PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coil winding method and device, by which a plurality of lead wires are arranged in parallel and smoothly wound without being twisted, in a relatively simple structure and reduced in equipment costs, thereby providing a rotary machine excellent in performance. SOLUTION: A pair of winding frames 44 connected to the opposite surface of a rotary substrate 42 through a hinge are arranged so as to be coaxially connected in one or a plurality of groups to constitute a winding frame connection body 50. With the winding frame connection bodies coaxially connected, respective rotary pressing plates 36 are abutted on both opposite ends, and a plurality of lead wires pulled out of a lead wire supplying means and arranged in parallel are clamped to one end of the winding frame connection body. After moving a lead wire supplying means 28 is moved in the axial direction of the winding frame connection body and applying the means with winding while rotating the winding frame connection body, each winding frame is arranged in substantially horizontally along the plane of the rotary substrate, and while leaving the rotary substrate as it is or moving the rotary substrate by means of a coil adjusting means to be adjusted to a coil receiving jig 60, causing a coil to be dropped in the coil receiving jig.
