<p>The massage device comprises a rod-like base body (2) made of stone that is rounded off at an end. The base body consists of porous rock material or artificial stone material, and is provided with a means reducing the suction capability of the rock material or artificial stone material and with a coating (10) thickly sealing the surface (8) of the base body. A strengthening element (5) is connected with the base body. The suction capability of the rock material or artificial stone material is reduced through treatment with a hydrophobicizing agent. The artificial stone consists of a binding agent transferred and hardened with sand- or rock flour. The binding agent consists of synthetic resin and elastic hardening material such as silicone and latex. The means reducing the suction capability of the rock material or artificial stone material is formed through binding a bore in the base body that is closed with potting compound (6). The strengthening element is formed in rod-shaped and corrosion-resistant manner and consists of plastic, zinc plated steel, stainless steel or aluminum. An independent claim is included for a method for the production of a massage device.</p> |
