The invention relates to a method and system of managing modal dialogs, wherein the previously opened modal dialogs in the cascade can be viewed easily and completely for enabling entering new information or modifying the contents of the most recently opened modal dialog. The graphical user interface of the system comprises an active area and a reference area, the active area holding the most recently opened modal dialog and the reference area holding the previously opened modal dialogs.
