<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glass ceramic sintered compact having high strength, high Young's modulus characteristic, and further having low dielectric constant and low dielectric loss, and also to provide a wiring board and a thin film wiring board using the sintered compact. <P>SOLUTION: The glass ceramic sintered compact has substantially neither ZnO nor TiO<SB>2</SB>, and contains: (a) a celsian crystal phase comprising an anisotropic crystal having the aspect ratio of ≥3; (b) at least one crystal phase selected from the group consisting of forsterite, spinel and enstatite crystal phases; (c) at least one of alumina and zirconia crystal phases; and (d) a residual glass phase containing BaO of ≤10 mass%.
