PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluorine-containing boronate ester compound of a low melting point, and a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: The fluorine-containing boronate ester compound represented by formula shown in the drawing (wherein R<SP>1</SP>represents a 2-10C straight chain or branched divalent aliphatic hydrocarbon group, and a is 1 or 2) is produced by allowing a dihalogenohydrofluorocarbon compound with its both ends each terminated by a halogen atom, represented by formula: X-(CH<SB>2</SB>)<SB>n</SB>-Rf-(CH<SB>2</SB>)<SB>n</SB>-X (wherein, Rf represents a 2-20C perfluoroalkylene group, X represents a bromine atom or an iodine atom, and n is an integer of 1 to 5) to react with a hydroxyphenyl boronate ester compound.
