PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a thermally assisted magnetic head at low cost which can realize both improvement of recording density and reduction of device cost to realize reduction of recording cost per recording information (that is, bit unit price) required in accordance with development of advanced information society. SOLUTION: By heating an information recording medium using frictional heat caused by a surface of the information recording medium contacting with part of a face opposing to the information recording medium of a magnetic head, the thermally assisted recording magnetic head which is more simple, lower cost and more stable compared to a conventional laser light irradiating method, is provided.
