PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a patient monitoring system and a method thereof. SOLUTION: The system (10) includes patient monitoring systems (22a-22n) configured to obtain patient data from a plurality of monitored patients (20a-20n), an alarm (14), and a processor (12). The processor (12) is coupled with the patient monitoring systems (20a-20n) and the alarm (14). The processor (12) generates a custom alarm trigger for each of the monitored patients (20a-20n), and selectively actuates the alarm (14) based on an analysis of the custom alarm triggers and the patient data.
