PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for managing a network which reduces reception failures of notification such as fault information while reducing a communication traffic volume. SOLUTION: When a management event being an event of a management object occurs, this network apparatus transmits management event notification being a message for notifying occurrence of the management event by including a relevant apparatus name; this device for managing a network stores the received management event notification, determines whether detailed information of the management event should be obtained based on the content of the stored management event notification, and transmits a detailed information request message for requesting the detailed information to the network apparatus when the detailed information is determined to be obtained; and, when the detailed information request message is received, the network apparatus returns configuration information of the apparatus name included in the message as detailed information.
