PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stable oxidation dye composition containing a cationic polymer. SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a composition for subjecting keratin fibers, particularly human keratin fibers, for example hair to oxidation dyeing. The composition includes: (a) at least one oxidation dye; (b) at least one fatty alcohol; (c) at least one associative polymer; and (d) at least one fatty acid ester and/or metal oxide within a medium suitable for dyeing. This oxidation dye composition has consistency which should be satisfied by the oxidation dye composition, and also has a stable viscosity for a long period of time without increasing the content of a fatty alcohol or using a crosslinked polyacrylic acid type other thickener.
