PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plated steel sheet for can which is excellent in secondary adhesion and corrosion resistance of an organic coating film. SOLUTION: The plated steel sheet for can is a steel sheet continuously or intermittently having metal tin on a steel sheet surface or on an alloy layer containing iron and tin, and has a phosphate layer for 0.5-5.0 mg/m<SP>2</SP>as the amount of P on the metal tin and/or on the alloy layer, and further has a silica-zirconia treatment layer containing the oxide of Zr and/or the hydroxide of Zr for 2-15 mg/m<SP>2</SP>as the amount of Zr and the oxide of Si and/or the hydroxide of Si for 2-15 mg/m<SP>2</SP>as the amount of Si, for which the total the amount of Zr and the amount of Si is 5-30 mg/m<SP>2</SP>, on the phosphate layer.
