PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safety pressure rice cooker configured to be prevented from ejecting steam and hot water from between a rice cooker body and a lid body even if an abnormal pressure is applied to the inside of a pot during cooking rice. SOLUTION: The rice cooker includes: the rice cooker body 2 having the pot 4 for receiving a rice to be cooked, a storage case 14 for storing the pot 4, a heating section 5 for heating the pot 4, and a control portion for controlling rice cooking; a lid body 3 mounted to the rice cooker body 2 so as to be opened and closed; a pressure valve 18 provided in the lid body 3, and adjusting the pressure in the pot 4; a safety valve; a storage portion 36 for storing glutinous liquid; and a negative pressure valve 20 for returning the glutinous liquid into the pot 4. The negative pressure valve 20 includes a cover 33 for returning the glutinous liquid, and a negative-pressure releasing mechanism 21 for releasing the negative pressure valve 20 to release the pressure in the pot 4, when the inside of the pot has a pressure higher than a predetermined pressure. When a pressure sensor or the like detects a pressure in the pot 4 which has a value higher than the limit value of the safety valve, it is determined that the inside of the pot 4 has an abnormal state, so that a negative-pressure release mechanism 21 is operated to push down the cover 33 for returning the glutinous liquid, and to release the pressure in the pot 4.
