The invention relates to a mechanism for raising and rotating the mattress/mattress support assembly of a bed, comprising two rotating bases, namely an upper rotating base and a lower rotating base, which bases rotate independently of each other and are hinged to one another by means of a bell-crank lever to which two pressure pistons are attached. This mechanism is provided on a frame having equal dimensions to those of the mattress and mattress support of the bed. In addition, a transverse supporting base is attached to the frame and the lower rotating base is attached to said supporting base. The lever includes a safety bolt that maintains the horizontal position. The mattress/mattress support assembly is attached to the upper rotating base. Said mechanism allows the user to make a bed easily without having to move around the bed.
