The method involves dividing charging process of batteries i.e. valve-regulated lead acid batteries, into a main charge level and recharge or full charge level. Charge time and voltage response of the batteries are evaluated for change-over of power levels in the main charge level when charge current is constant while redundantly operating full charge recognition mechanisms are used in the full charge level. A charge parameter e.g. charge end, is dynamically adapted to aging and temperature of the batteries in the main charge level and in the full charge level. The parameter is designed as switching time and internal resistance. |
