A tobacco hank cutting assembly (12) has a rotating cutter head (33) with a cutting edge on a rotating (31) holder. The cutter head (33) is essentially parallel to the holder axis of rotation. The cutter head (33) has a thickened zone from its fixture point to the cutting edge forming a tangent or parallel from the holder.
