The device has a primary mirror (2) associated to a light source e.g. halogen lamp, for forming a primary light beam. A secondary mirror (4) cooperates with the light source for forming a secondary light beam. The secondary light beam comprises light rays having an inclination angle, relative to an optical axis, greater than a maximum angle of the primary light beam relative to the optical axis. The secondary mirror is arranged at a nonzero distance from the primary mirror. An independent claim is also included for a method for creating a secondary virtual light source in a lighting and/or signaling device.
