PURPOSE: A COT structure liquid crystal display and a manufacturing method thereof in which a color filter is composed in an array panel are provided to reduce costs by minimizing the distance between a sealant and an alignment layer edge. CONSTITUTION: A first substrate(200) and a second substrate(250) are attached through a sealant. A gate line and a data line vertically cross in the single side of a first substrate and a second substrate. A switching element is composed of a crossing point of the data line and the gate line. A color filter is composed in a pixel region.
