FIELD: physics. ^ SUBSTANCE: in an inductor for induction hardening metal rod-like tooth racks (1), the outer surface of the gear rack (1) in the area of the teeth is essentially flat and the remaining part is shaped such that the tooth rack (1) and the inductor are immovable during the hardening process. The inductor is formed by several separate essentially rod-like induction elements (2) respectively passing parallel the longitudinal axis of the tooth rack (1), wherein at least one induction element (2) passes along the outer surface of the tooth rack (1) with teeth and hardens this given area of the outer surface of the tooth rack (1), and at least one induction element (2) passes along the remaining part of the outer surface of the tooth rack (1) and hardens this given area of the outer surface of the tooth rack (1). ^ EFFECT: invention simplifies and accelerates the induction process. ^ 11 cl, 4 dwg |
