A flexible rockshaft includes joint structure (40, 140) facilitating the adjustment of the rotational angle of rockshaft segments (20a, 20b, 20c) relative to each other. A link (42,142) inserted between a rockshaft segment (20a, 20b, 20c) and the joint structure (40, 140) rotates on the same or a parallel pivot (56, 156) as adjacent rockshaft segment (20a, 20b, 20c), and an adjustable length connecting mechanism (72, 172) on the link provides angular adjustment. In one embodiment, shims (102, 104) supported on the link (42, 142) are selectively clamped between a threaded stop and an internally threaded link. The number of shims (102, 104) may be easily varied to change the angular position of one rockshaft segment (20a, 20b, 20c) relative to the adjacent segment (20a, 20b, 20c). In another embodiment, a simpler threaded member (173) with positioning nuts (182, 184, 186) is located on the additional link (142) and provides inexpensive angular adjustability. |
