Subject: artificial honeycomb composed of a base constituted of a piece of mesh-fabric 3 in dimensions analogous to the frame in use and of wax or mixture of resins or bee wax 4 enclosing said mesh-fabric. The mesh-fabric base impedes the detachment of wax during the incorporation process to the support wire of the frame; furthermore, the fabric retains the honeycomb so that centrifugation can be accelerated and greater final rotation velocities can be obtained without damaging the honeycomb whereon lesser honey is left. There are three modes for the mass production of an artificial honeycomb base (manufacture of a sheet having shaped hexagons on its surface and a mesh-fabric inside) one of which is the following: two cylinders having printed hexagons on their surface are placed in parallel relationship to each other and a mesh-fabric sheet is interposed between said cylinders propelling -when rotating- same mesh-fabric 3. Melted wax is poured between said cylinders and solidified by the difference of temperature. |
