PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for selecting an item are provided to execute a corresponding function by accurately selecting a desirable item. CONSTITUTION: If at least one item exists in a cursor, a control unit judges the number of items(215,220). If a pointer is placed in the item, the control unit judges the item placed at the pointer as a selection predicted item(225,230). The control unit judges the items which are not judges as the selection item as the items in a cursor(235), and changes the graphic of the candidate items and the selection prediction item(240).
