The device has a female locking element with a movable hook (11) to partially surround a rigid strike wire (32) of a male locking element in a locked position. One of the elements is connected to a wide portion (2) of a seat backrest, and the other element is connected to a vehicle structure. The female locking element is associated to an elastic stop (12), which is compressed between the backrest and the structure in the locked position. The male locking element carries a plastic sleeve (4) placed in contact with the stop to increase compression of the stop in the locked position.
