PURPOSE: A method for preparing 3,4-substituted thiophene is provided to obtain the 3,4-substituted thiophene of high purity and high yield. CONSTITUTION: A 3,4-substituted thiophene of chemical formula 1 is prepared by reacting thiophenedicarboxylic acid derivative of chemical formula 2 in nonprotonic polar solvent under the presence of mixture solvent of 1,8-Diazabicyclo[5.4.0]unde -7-cene and copper salt at 100- 180°C. The copper salt is CuBr. The nonprotonic plar solvent is dimethylformamide.
