PURPOSE: A face detection and a graduate face recognition method through gradually visual environment recognition using a projection map are provided to improve face detection performance by performing the face detection. CONSTITUTION: Information is pre-processed without influencing environment from the inputted image(S2). The object-oriented extrusion map is obtained from the image obtaining from preprocessing and the object candidate is decided. The change of the image is changed and detects through the environment cognition from the image.
