An electric reactor comprises a number of cleats 14 stacked on a base 10; windings 16 disposed on the cleats; a top member 18 carried by the cleats; aligned openings 12, 17, 19 extending through the base 10, the cleats 14 and the top member 18 respectively; non- conducting fibres such as glass string being suspended from U-shaped lifting members 20 so as to depend through the aligned openings in the base, cleats and top members, a resinous material being disposed in the openings to bond the non-conducting members to one another and to the base, cleats and top member thereby tying the base, cleats and top member solidly together. The top member 18 may be an insulating board or it may consist of cleats having no grooves therein. The opening 12 in the reinforced concrete base 10 is in the form of two truncated cones meeting about the middle of the base. |
