<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a relief which has flexibility to a printing direction while having resistance across the relief to pressure, thereby reducing a dot gain. <P>SOLUTION: In the letterpress plate having a relief as a half dot formed on the surface of the plate material, the relief is formed in an oval truncated cone shape, and the minor axis direction of the oval truncated cone is made the same direction as the printing direction. The longitudinal section in the same direction as the printing direction is made smaller than the longitudinal section in the direction orthogonal to the printing direction. Thus the relief in the shape of the cross section has resistance to the pressure as a whole of the relief and at the same time has flexibility to the printing direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
