<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing method to achieve stable charging of a toner for a long period of time in a hybrid developing system. <P>SOLUTION: The developing method includes steps of: moving and separating the toner to the surface of a second conveyance member by a first electrical field formed between a first conveyance member and the second conveyance member from a developing agent held and conveyed on the surface of the first conveyance member; holding and conveying the separated toner on the surface of the second conveyance member; and moving the toner to an electrostatic latent image of an electrostatic latent image carrier by a second electrical field formed between the second conveyance member and the electrostatic latent image carrier. The developing agent further includes reverse polarity particles charged in the reverse polarity to the charged polarity of the toner by frictional contact with the carrier. The remaining ratio of the reverse polarity particles remaining on the toner surface is 30-50% when ultrasound is applied to the developing agent in water for five minutes. The adhesion area ratio of the reverse polarity particle for the carrier in the developing agent is maintained within a range of 0.05-0.50 area%. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
