PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of recovering the heat energy of slag by which the heat energy is efficiently recovered from the slag such as blast furnace slag. SOLUTION: In the recovery of the heat energy of the slag by feeding high temperature solidified slag 1 obtained by cooling molten slag and a gas of temperature lower than the solidified slag 1 into a cylindrically shaped heat exchanger 2 and heat-exchanging the solidified slag 1 and the gas for each other in the heat exchanger 2, the solidified slag 1 is pulverized by a crusher 8 so as to form a solidified slag fluidized bed 10 in the heat exchanger 2 and after that, the solidified slag 1 is fed to the heat exchanger 2.
