PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device reducing a capacity in a cold storage agent, while securing an idle stop time. SOLUTION: This air conditioner is provided with: an engine automatic stopping and restarting means (5) for automatically stopping an engine (4) when an engine automatic stopping permitting condition is realized, restarting the engine (4) when an engine automatic stopping releasing condition is realized thereafter and restarting the engine (4) when the actual evaporator temperature reaches the engine automatic stopping releasing temperature determined from an air-conditioning request even if this engine automatic stopping releasing condition is not realized; a target temperature setting means (51) for setting the target temperature of an evaporator (11) to the dew point temperature or less of suction air; and a compressor capacity control means (51) for controlling compressor capacity so that the actual evaporator temperature coincides with this target temperature.
