The device has a sensor interface (a) connected with sensors and an observer/signal processing unit (d). The sensor interface, an actuator interface (b), a communication interface (c), the observer/signal processing unit, a diagnostic manager (e), a reconfigurator (f), a diagnostic functional unit (g) and a controller (h) are interconnected for changing data/information and assigned with functions. The functions are determined based on drive principle of a drive system, number or characteristics of the sensors or actuators.
