PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dispersion of a water-insoluble colorant, having extremely fine primary particles of water-insoluble colorant fine particles, having high dispersion stability and storage stability, and capable of giving a printed material with high color density and high definition.

SOLUTION: The dispersion of a water-insoluble colorant contains a water-insoluble colorant including at least two colorants, a polymer compound having at least one repeating unit selected from repeating units represented by general formula (1) or (2), and water. In the formulae, R1represents a hydrogen atom or a substituent; and one of R2to R5represents a single bond to bind to W, and the others represent each independently hydrogen or substituent.
