<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtian a high-image-quality reproduction image even when encoding images sequentially input and having frame rates different from one another. <P>SOLUTION: An image encoding apparatus includes: a frame rate calculation unit 40 for calculating, from image date input from a camera, frame rates of the image data; a frame rate control buffer 20 for writing the image data input from the camera in a buffer memory once, reading the image data from the buffer memory to be converted to a certain frame rate based on the calculated frame rates, and for output of the image data; an encoding control unit 50 for determining a motion searching range and a GOP structure based on the calculated frame rates; and an image encoding unit 30 for encoding the image data converted to the certain frame rate based on the determined motion searching range and the GOP structure to generate variable-length bit stream data. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
