PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic transmission control device for adequately detecting the travelling condition of a vehicle and executing adequate pre-shift control depending on the travelling condition. SOLUTION: An ECU calculates a wheel speed difference REVdiff between rear wheels as driven wheels, and determines that the vehicle is being turned (a second timing t2) when the wheel speed difference REVdiff exceeds a turning start determining threshold value STth. The ECU sets the pre-shift stage of an automatic transmission to be a lower-speed shift stage than a current shift stage, and executes pre-shift control to the down-shift side.
