PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vane pump constructed such that aligning action can be provided therein without unnecessarily maintaining machining accuracy, the durability thereof can be increased, and the size thereof can be reduced. SOLUTION: In this vane pump, a motor shaft 21 forms an involute spline shaft comprising a plurality of involute teeth 99, an involute spline hole 56 is provided to a rotor 57, and the rotor 57 and the motor shaft 21 are joined to an involute spline. Since the involute spline provides an aligning action, the center of the rotor is aligned with the center of a drive shaft. Therefore, the partial wear of the rotor can be reduced, the durability can be increased, and the vane pump can be miniaturized. Since a coupling can be eliminated, the number of parts can be reduced, and cost can be reduced since the machining accuracy does not need to be strictly maintained. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
