PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotating electric machine structured to cool a coil end by a cooling medium that has cooled a permanent magnet, and achieves high energy efficiency. SOLUTION: The rotating electric machine MG includes a rotor Ro which is supported to be rotatable radially inside a stator St having the coil end 13 and is provided with the permanent magnet 25. A cooling medium supplied from a rotor shaft 22 cools the permanent magnet 25 and the coil end 13. The rotating electric machine includes: a cooling medium return path 34 through which the cooling medium having cooled the permanent magnet 25 circulates radially inward in the rotor Ro, and a coolant jet nozzle 35 which communicates with a radially inside end of the cooling medium return path 34, is formed at a position radially close to the rotor shaft 22, and jets the cooling medium from the rotor Ro toward the coil end 13.
