PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing apparatus capable of recognizing video contents on a time bar for controlling a video playback position. SOLUTION: The information processing apparatus includes: a storage device; an image extraction means to extract a plurality of images from video data, and record the images in the storage device along with time stamp information; a decoding means to decode the video data; and a display control means to display a seek bar for controlling a reproduction position for decoding the video data by the decoding means, and display the images extracted by the image extraction means at positions on the seek bar defined based on the time stamp information.
