PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a light diffusion layer compounding silicone resin particles that hardly fall; and a light diffusion sheet having the light diffusion layer. SOLUTION: In the light diffusion layer containing a binder resin and the silicone resin particles, the silicone resin particles have 70-100 mol% R<SP>1</SP>SiO<SB>3/2</SB>units (R<SP>1</SP>is a 1-20 C monovalence hydrocarbon group) based on total siloxane units, are insoluble to inorganic solvent, have at least one organic groups chosen from the group consisting of an aryl group, an alkenyl group, an acryloyloxy group and a methacryloyloxy group on the surface, and are spherical particles of 0.5-20μm of volume average particle size. The light diffusion sheet has the light diffusion layer and a transparent support body, wherein the light diffusion layer is laminated on the transparent support body. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
