PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing technology capable of increasing the ratio occupied by hollow particles in total particles, wherein the hollow particle is formed of silicon oxide having macropores obtained from a water soluble silicate and a water soluble high molecular compound using W/O/W emulsion in a shell part. SOLUTION: There is provided a method of manufacturing the hollow particle formed of a silicon oxide having a plurality of macropores, which is obtained by acting a precipitant aqueous solution to a W/O emulsion prepared by dispersing a first water phase particle containing the water soluble silicate, the macropore forming water soluble polymer and an inorganic salt into an oil phase.
