An ion generating apparatus is provided with: a housing having an inlet and an outlet; an air blower (2) which has a bladed wheel (21) and a casing (22) having the bladed wheel (21) housed therein and is housed in the housing; a filter which passes through the air that has been sucked by the air blower (2) from the inlet; and two ion generating sections which generate positive ions and negative ions. An ion generating section is disposed on the circular induction wall (22a) of the casing (22). The positive ions and negative ions generated by means of the ion generating section are efficiently included in the air that flows in a state of laminar flow along the circular induction wall (22a).
