A diagnosis support apparatus enables detailed observation of a structure of a target point (specified point) and the vicinity thereof in a diagnostic image from multi-directions. The diagnosis support apparatus generates overview images (8, 9) each representing an overview of the structure (for example, a large intestine) on the basis of volume data and displays the image on the screen (5) of a display. The diagnosis support apparatus sets a point in the overview image and a point in the corresponding volume data as the target points. The diagnosis support apparatus sets a target volume including the target point in the volume data and further sets a line-of-sight vector with the target point as an end point and a movable visual point as a starting point. The diagnosis support apparatus changes the direction of the line-of-sight vector and projects the target volume on a projection surface perpendicular to the direction of each line-of-sight vector, to thereby generate a detailed image (11) representing the detail of the target point and the vicinity thereof. The diagnosis support apparatus displays, in sequence or in parallel, the detailed image (11) which is generated with the change of the line-of-sight direction on the screen.
