PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To raise reliability of a light emitting element, a light emitting device, an electronic apparatus and a lighting system and to reduce electric power consumptions thereof, while providing the light emitting element with a long life and a high efficiency. SOLUTION: The light emitting element has: a light emitting layer; and a hole transport layer containing a carbazole derivative which touches the light emitting layer and is expressed as a structural formula (100). The light emitting element shows the long life and the high efficiency. Moreover, the light emitting device is equipped with the light emitting element and means for controlling the light emitting element.
