PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a load from concentrating on a particular actual file system, in a virtual projection file system composed by combining directory structures of a plurality of actual file systems. SOLUTION: A priority table 4 registers priority information indicating the priority of each file on the actual file systems 5-1 to 5-N. A projection file system control means 3 manages the virtual projection file system composed by combining the directory structures of the actual file systems 5-1 to 5-N. A user process 2 issues a process request designating a file on the projection file system. The projection file system control means 3 refers to the priority table 4 to determine the highest-priority file among the files on the actual file system corresponding to the designated file, and performs an operation requested by the process request on the file.
