PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnetic contactor, capable of reducing product cost by making a nonmagnetic member in a simple shape and decreasing the operation man-hours for mounting it on the underside of a movable iron core. SOLUTION: The electromagnetic contactor 10 is provided with a fixed iron core 20, a movable holder 24 freely movable toward the fixed iron core, a movable core 27 connected to an end of the movable holder close to the fixed iron core and attracted to the fixed iron core by the excitation of a coil 21 arranged around the fixed iron core, and the nonmagnetic member 35 arranged on the movable core facing the fixed iron core side. The nonmagnetic member is set as a flat plate member, with a high bending rigidity. The nonmagnetic member is overlaid on the surface of the movable core to face the fixed iron core. The nonmagnetic member and the movable core are held between a cushioning spring 34, held in the movable holder in contact with a back face of the movable core which does not face the fixed iron core, and a coupling pin 39 bridged over a pair of holder leg members 31, 32 provided at a side facing the fixed iron core of the movable holder and arranged traversing the nonmagnetic member.
