PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily retrieve a resource desired by a user from among resources distributed to a plurality of servers, or the like. SOLUTION: A resource providing system is provided with a user agent EG1, an intermediary layer agent EG2, and a resource agent EG3. The user agent EG1 is provided with a file acquisition processing part 16 for requesting a file FR desired by the user of the intermediary layer agent EG2. The intermediary layer agent EG2 is provided with a file relaying part 25 which discriminates the resource agent EG3 for managing a file FR requested from the user agent EG1 and gives a command that the file FR should be transmitted to the user, to the resource agent EG3.
