PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a body type determination method and a body type determination system for determining the body type of a person by calculating a characteristic quantity of body type from an image of the person to determine the body type, and a monitoring system using the same. SOLUTION: The body type determination method for determining a body type of a person includes an image acquisition step of acquiring an overall image of the person; and a body type characteristic quantity calculation step of calculating the characteristic quantity of body type based on the overall image of the person.
