The invention relates to spherical particles having an average diameter (numerical average) in the range of 1 to 100 µm, comprising at least one organic polymer, wherein the particles have one or more open pores that have diameters in the range of 1 to 90% of the particle diameter and a depth of at least 10% of the particle diameter.
