<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To seek-control variable-length content data received through a network with high accuracy. <P>SOLUTION: A content data playback apparatus for a client 200 receives and reproduces, through network distribution from a server 100, variable-length content data which are being accumulated in the server 100 by video-recording or network distribution and whose entire length may be varied.
