PURPOSE: A peptide derivative in which glutathione like peptide is bound to a benzoic acid derivative is provided to suppress tyrosinase and to ensure antioxidation with stability. CONSTITUTION: A peptide derivative is denoted by chemical formula 1. In chemical formula 1, L does not exist or is a connection group; A is glutathione like peptide having 3-12 amino acid residue; Y is Cys; and Z is Gly, Ala, Val, Leu, Ile or Phe. A cosmetic composition for skin whitening contains the peptide derivative.
