PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Bluetooth communication system which transmits and receives comparatively large-volume data such as map information by extending a general-purpose Bluetooth SPP that has a high placement ratio and transmits small amount of data, between terminals compatible with short-range radio communication by Bluetooth. SOLUTION: In an information terminal 2, data to be transmitted is divided into a plurality of data pieces in units of 1,022 bytes, and converted into Bluetooth SPP packets to be enqueued to a buffer 203. In step S1, when it is detected that a Bluetooth SPP packet for transmission is enqueued, and in step S2, a transmission Callback routine is executed by interruption processing, and each packet is dequeued to be transmitted to a portable terminal 1. In the portable terminal 1, when the Bluetooth SPP packet is received in step S11, a reception Callback routine is executed by interruption processing in step S12, and the received packet is enqueued to the buffer 103.
