PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conveying device which speedily and reliably conveys an object to be ground from a grinding apparatus. SOLUTION: The conveying apparatus 51 has a flat body 53 provided with chuck jigs 55 for chucking glass substrates 1a housed in the grinding device 21a. As shown in Fig.6, the chuck jigs 55 are arranged in a shape corresponding to the arrangement shape of the glass substrates 1a (objects to be ground) on the grinding device 21a. A chuck part 57 is columnar and an end 61 is axially divided into four and increased in diameter. On the outer periphery of the chuck part 57, a screw 65 formed in a circumferential direction is provided. A sleeve 59 has a cylindrical shape and is provided rotatably. When the sleeve 59 is rotated in the direction of C1, the chuck part 57 is pulled into the sleeve 59, and the outer peripheral shape of the chuck part 57 is restrained by the inner periphery of the sleeve 59 and reduced in diameter.
