PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vending machine capable of obtaining a proper amount of refrigerant circulation and performing an efficient operation, even when an inexpensive stationary type expander is used and the setting modes of cooling and heating differ. SOLUTION: The vending machine includes a cooling circulation circuit which is constituted of a compressor; a condenser electromagnetic valve; a condenser; an expansion means; a distributor for distributing a refrigerant; an inlet electromagnetic valve for the cooler; a plurality of heat exchangers inside a chamber and an outlet electromagnetic valve for the cooler, and a heating-cooling circulation circuit which is constituted with a piping connection between the heat exchanger inside the chamber and the inlet electromagnetic valve for the cooler in the cooling circulation circuit via the electromagnetic valve for the heater; and a piping connection to the distributor from between the heat exchanger inside the chamber and the outlet electromagnetic valve for the cooler via the heat exchanger outside the chamber and the second expansion means. When switched from a heat pump operation to a standalone cooling operation, the inlet electromagnetic valve for the cooler of the heat exchanger inside the chamber, with the heating operation suspended, is choked, the outlet electromagnetic valve for the cooler is opened during a designated period of time; and the refrigerant of the suspended heat exchanger inside the chamber is collected to the cooling circulation circuit.
